Uptown Main Street (UMS) is a program managed by the nonprofit Uptown Community Initiative that supports the development of Upper 14th Street NW and Kennedy Street NW. Formed out of a partnership between two community organizations in late 2017, UCI seeks to celebrate and honor the unique histories of each street by supporting a strong, thriving and inclusive commercial corridor.
The UMS program advances economic development efforts by supporting small businesses and our neighborhood corridors. UMS provides technical assistance to small and local business and plans events that highlight our unique business mix. Through the support of business owners, community members and sponsors, UMS provides year-round programming and support to our more than 200 businesses.
We invite you to join us at our next community event, to join our Committees or visit one of our wonderful small businesses.
